Welcome to Issue I : Volume I of The Ambassador Poetry Project!

In this issue, poets are featured from all corners of Michigan and Ontario. From Houghton to Ypsilanti, from Toronto to Cochrane, and everywhere in between, The Ambassador Poetry Project aims to showcase poetic voices rooted in the MI & ON regions. Emerging and established poets demonstrate the many themes and experiences relevant to the two regions whilst presenting individual tastes, styles, and voices. Reminder: A launch party is scheduled for Friday, September 25th at 7pm and will take place at the Grosse Pointe Art Center in Grosse Pointe MI. Co-hosted by Marick Press, and in partnership with Wayne State University Press, the event will include poetry readings, a musical performance, refreshments and ample time during the reception for socializing. Also during this celebratory evening, Ambassador's founding editor Lori A. May will be launching her latest book, stains: early poems, and signing copies during the reception. Please, if you have not yet submitted your poetry for consideration, review the submissions criteria and consider sending in your work. Submissions are accepted year-round. The online periodical will be published quarterly, in September, December, March, and June of each year. It is anticipated a print anthology will be produced annually, featuring poetry selected by an editorial committee.
