Restoration

five years ago
you became vindictive
and ruined her life;
so you thought.

lies. deceit. theft. fraud.
adultery. a double life.
who did you become?
you're not the one she loved.

you threw her into a pit
hoping to never emerge.
her life would unravel,
become threadbare.

she did emerge, but
not tattered and worn.
her life was not ruined,
it was only set in motion.

she now stands
strong, happy,
and content.
her glass is full.

your glass must be empty.
